Requirements

Please read the following carefully before applying.

Hours

Summer internships only. A minimum of 240 hours is required, completed at a single organization in principle.

Eligible Organizations

Government agencies with published internship openings, or private organizations with a signed agreement with the department.

Enrollment

Students must select a faculty supervisor and attend the department internship orientation before enrolling.

Withdrawal

Internships may not be discontinued without prior approval; unauthorized withdrawal results in a failing grade. Absences may not exceed one-third of total required hours.

Before

Preparation and Application

Attend the department internship orientation and submit the Internship Application Form.

Apply to an internship organization directly. If the organization does not have a signed agreement with the department, consult the department office first.

Submit proof of acceptance to the department office and select a faculty supervisor.

Submit the Internship Partnership Agreement, Parental Consent Form, and proof of insurance.

* If the organization does not provide group internship insurance, the department will arrange and cover the cost.

During

Site Visit

Students are responsible for coordinating visit dates and format with both the host organization and faculty supervisor. Submit the Internship Progress Report at least one week before the scheduled visit.

The faculty supervisor completes the Site Visit Evaluation Form following the visit.

After

Submission and Assessment

Obtain a completion certificate from the host organization and submit it to the department office.

Within two weeks of completing the internship, submit the Internship Report as a PDF to the department office, following the department's prescribed format.

Present at the internship sharing session (typically held in October) and complete the Satisfaction Survey.
