Seminar

Required every semester. A maximum of 3 enrollments (6 credits) count toward graduation.

Colloquium

Required every semester throughout the program. Does not count toward graduation credits.

Independent Research

Required every semester. A maximum of 3 enrollments (6 credits) count toward graduation; additional enrollments do not count toward graduation credits but are included in GPA calculation.

Elective Courses

Ecology and Conservation

Combining plant and animal ecology, population biology, and conservation genetics, with eastern Taiwan's rich ecosystems as the primary research environment.

Earth Sciences

Integrating geochemistry, seismic monitoring, and spatial analysis, using Taiwan's distinctive geological conditions as a research context, with a focus on disaster prevention applications.

Environmental Policy and Planning

Linking resource economics, environmental law, and spatial planning to address conservation administration, common-pool resource management, and land use decision-making.

Environmental Education and Ecotourism

From theory to field practice, covering environmental interpretation, recreation impact assessment, and sustainable tourism planning.

All tracks are open to all master's students regardless of admitted track.

Students are encouraged to select courses across tracks based on their background and career goals.

Graduation Requirements

Required Credits

All courses in the International Track

must be passed with a grade of B− or above.

Thesis or Technical Report

Students in the Research Track and International Track are required to complete a master's thesis. Students in the Applied Track may substitute a technical report. An oral defense is required for all.
